Conversations with animals

Lately Addy has really been starting to play pretend a lot more and I think it's so cute. She loves to make her animals talk. They particularly enjoy asking me the same question over and over again. Here's how the conversation goes:
Addy(making bear or another of her animals talk and it's always in a very high pitched voice)-
"What's your name?"
Me-"My name's mama, what's your name?"
Addy-"My name's Addy."
Me-"I thought your name was bear."
Addy-(still speaking in a very high pitched voice) "Oh right, bear."
She also makes inanimate objects, such as straws and stickers talk to me. Such a funny imagination!

The astronaut

About a month ago when Ryan was gone on an overnight camp out, I thought it would be fun to take Addy to dinner at IHOP. She had never been there before and with how much she enjoys pancakes, I knew she would love it! I was right, she did love it and now every time we pass an IHOP (and even when we don't) she says, "Can we go to the astronaut (AKA restaurant) and get some pancakes?"

Drama Queen

Addy's favorite thing to say to us the past couple of weeks is, "Just leave me alone." Sometimes I really think she's a teenager in a toddler's body!

"Want Need"

If ever I ask Addy a question, such as "Do you want cinnamon or jelly on your toast?" Her answer is "I want need some...." It's always, "I want need." Pretty cute!

Nella

Addy has taken to calling herself by the name of Nella lately. I have no idea whatsoever where she got this name from, but I think it's really funny! Here's a conversation we had just a few minutes ago:
(She was wearing a blanket as a dress, while having this conversation)
Addy: "I a queen."
Me: "Oh really, what's your name?"
Addy: "My name is Nella."
Addy: "My name not Addy, just Nella."

Two funny comments in one evening!

Addy has been very into the Sesame Street website, since we recently discovered it. Today she said she wanted to go to it and then she said, "I love Sesame Street. I watch it all day long."
We were all lying on our bed tonight before Addy went to bed and Addy was looking at Ryan and said, "I see Addy's eyes." What she meant was that she could see her reflection in his eyes. Pretty darn cute!

The Merican Flag

Addy is very into talking about flags lately. Every time she sees an American flag she says, "Look Mommy it's Merican flag and it's got red, and blue and stars." On our way to swimming lessons each week she says this exact phrase about 10 times, lots of American flags on the way to her lessons!

Car talk

Lately, every time we get back in the car (even when we've only been gone for a few minutes) and Addy has left her bear there she says, "Look, bear is waiting for you." This also applies to her water, "Look, water is waiting for you." I think the reason behind it is I would often say that to her when we'd get back into the car after being gone for awhile.

Honey

Addy loves her bear and her bunny. I would say that they are her best friends. She makes them fight with each other and then of course, they hug and are friends again. She figured out a couple of days ago in the car, that it was hilarious to make bear go upside down and has done it a few times since. However, the funniest thing that she does with bunny and bear is talking to them. She'll pretend like one of them gets hurt and then pat them on the back and console them by saying, "Is okay honey, is okay." The funniest part is the way she says "honey" and the fact that she says it at all. I guess I call her honey more than I thought!

Snakey

Last night when I was changing Addy's diaper she was watching my hands. Then she pointed at a rather large vein (it was actually the one they put the IV in for her birth) on my hand and said, "You got a snakey?"

Not a clue

Addy has been saying this kind of little sing song phrase for the past few months, "Dat's da coloah doh." I have no idea what it means, but she says it in such a cute way that I don't really mind.

Two favorite phrases

Addy's two favorite phrases this week are:
"Dat kinda pretty cool" and "Hey, don't do dat me"

"Moley Ouch"

Addy likes to point to this rather large mole on my chest and say, "Moley ouch." I'm not sure why she thinks it hurts, but I like that she calls it that.

Dog heaven

As you may already know, we live in a "pet friendly" community, which makes me feel very unfriendly about it! Addy on the other hand loves it. Yesterday, every time a dog would bark or walk by she would say one of two things,
"Doggy gonna come yick (lick) you face" or "Wanna pet doggy"

Boobies

Whenever Addy sees one of my bras lying on the bed she picks it up or points to it and says, "Momma's boobies." Then she'll hold it up to her own chest and say, "My boobies." Funny stuff!

The Best Compliment

This morning Addy came up to me in the kitchen and said, "You sweet Momma." It was the nicest compliment she's ever given me!
